Safety Information
Chi Chapter would like to remind Assembly attendees that Chicago is like any other
big city and that it is important to remain cautious, alert, and safe throughout your
stay here.
The UIC Safety Police extend the following tips to help remain safe and secure while
on campus:
Be constantly aware of your surroundings, use all of your senses to be alert for danger, and when walking alone, don't wear headphones or earbuds.
Try to travel in groups when possible, particularly after dark
Use well-lit walkways and streets
On campus, look for the location of the nearest emergency call box (there are more than 1,500 across campus), a button will activate it
UIC Police strongly recommend complying with an offender whose intent appears to be property or valuables
Report crime promptly to police
The emergency number for UIC Police is 312-355-5555
